2017 Summer Intern - Workplace Innovation

Gensler is a leading architecture, design and planning firm, with 5,000+ staff in locations around the world.  At Gensler, we help companies innovate. We design services, environments, and digital experiences for organizations seeking new ways to provide value. 

The Seattle office is an entrepreneurial group of 60+ professionals serving the local community for more than 15 years.  Seattle is looking for a talented Design Strategy intern who wants be a part of exciting design and bring a new perspective to what we do.  The internship is 12 weeks long and will begin June 14.  This is a paid internship and you must be available full time for the entire duration of the program

We believe innovation happens when we bring together varied backgrounds, disciplines, and points of view. We are seeking the insight that can be gained by approaching our work with fresh imagination.  To this end, we are looking for self-motivated individuals, students who push the design bar and are currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Interior Design.

Your internship will include a wide spectrum of experiences, working closely with a global company committed to the belief that the workplace is a strategic element of their success. 
 

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about one’s discipline and craft and not afraid to experiment.
  • Craves participation in conceptual thought processes and design exploration.
  • Itches to contribute points of views.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Blends manual craft with digital realm.
  • Basic knowledge of Revit and Sketchup as a minimum.
  • Currently enrolled in an Architecture, Interior Design, Design Strategy or Computational Design program and have completed either your first year of graduate education or your junior year in your design program.

In addition, send us your portfolio focusing on your best work.

Physical (optional):

Situated on a 4”x4” piece of card stock, mail an idea you’ve been mulling over recently. A 2D or 3D “sketch”, we leave that up to you, just be ready to part with it as we will not be sending it back. Mail it to the attention of Gensler Intern P2, 1200 6th Ave, Suite 500, Seattle WA 98101.
