Job Description

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Energy Division with our Lubricants group. We are looking for a Plant Supervisor - 1st Shift for our Lubricants Production Plant. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and be detail oriented. You must have strong analytical, organizational and people management skills.

You will:Manage the 1st shift staff and resources of the manufacturing plant.Participate in planning, budgeting and completing capital budgets on time and on budget.Partner with the Plant Manager on assigned plant projects and functions.Ensure the staff and resources are deployed in the most efficient manner.Daily supervision of plant blending, shipping, receiving and warehousing activities.Conduct product planning and scheduling, schedule manpower and equipment needed necessary to efficiently operate the 1st shift.Manage finished product inventories, utilization of warehouse space and maintain good employee relationships.Oversee quality control testing on raw materials, finished products.Actively participate in all plant quality assurance activities.Maintain and meet Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Health Management Systems (HMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) requirements.Maintain good communication and customer relations both internally and externally.Responsible for training in all new employees on 1st shift.

  • Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor's Degree (additional years of work experience may offset education).2 plus year's previous supervisory experience in manufacturing or packaging environmentStrong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes and equipmentPrevious experience working with raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques maximizing effective production and distribution of goodsExperience working with unions & union contractsPrevious experience with Lean ManufacturingGood working knowledge of EEOC, OSHA and EPA regulationsGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office SuitePreferred Qualifications: (desired)Previous experience working in JD Edwards and inventory control systems.
