FLSA STATUS:                                        Non-Exempt
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:                        None
SALARY:                                                  $12.00-$17.00 an hour
FTE:                                                           1.0 (12 month)
SUMMARY: Performs various administrative and clerical duties in support of school or district office activities.
  • Serves as school and district registrar and attendance clerk. 
  • Compiles, verifies and distributes reports on student enrollment.
  • Implements new guidelines for attendance.
  • Greets visitors, receives and directs telephone calls and distributes messages to appropriate personnel.
  • Performs office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive and smoothly-run office.
  • Maintains files and records, including official correspondence and personnel files as required.
  • Sorts, screens and prioritizes mail.
  • Schedules and coordinates appointments, meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Prepares work orders for maintenance repairs.
  • Places orders for office supplies, furniture, equipment, and instructional supplies, etc. as needed.
  • Coordinates travel and transportation arrangements as assigned.
  • Prepares district and state reports, board reports and/or year end reports.
  • Supports the Superintendent and Governing Board
  • Attend all School Board meetings and assist the superintendent as secretary to the Board in maintaining minutes and other records.
  • Responsible for paying and processing all bills in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to operate standard office and computer equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills.
  • Ability to do basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use of discretion.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community members.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies.
  • Ability to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional response.
  • Produce accurate work and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous general office experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirements
Computer Proficiency: Demonstrate general proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Indoor office environment.  This position regularly works indoors.  The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times.   Will have contact with staff and the public.
