Analyst Manpower Systems 

Position Summary 

The Analyst will assist Resource Planning team to create workforce plans for hourly manpower in compliance with guidelines and directives within JetBlueThe Analyst will also maintain scheduling systems and perform various ad-hoc analyses to drive profitability and airline operability. The Analyst will be instrumental in not only helping to analyze the business from a micro and macro level, butassist in implementing tools and resources that will help streamline operations and allow for quick, effective decisions in order to drive schedule operability and airline profitability.  Projects are system-wide for all hourly operational groups and may require travel to various cities throughout the network. 

Essential Responsibilities 

  • Generate manpower rosters and models for hourly manpower groups with a focus on Airports, but also including FlightOps, TechOps, and Customer Support 

  • Maintain, operate and improve manpower reporting and optimization systems 

  • Support operational efficiency projects for FlightOps, Airports, JBU, Sys Ops, and Tech Ops 

  • Support goal development for operational business units 

  • Support manpower strategies and ad-hoc studies by conducting data-based analyses 

  • Builds and fosters relationships with internal and external Customers 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent 

  • One (1) year of analytical experience 

  • Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

  • Distinctive problem solving and analytical skills combined with business judgment and the ability to communicate with senior leadership 

  • Self-starter who is eager to participate and contribute in teams 

  • Available for occasional overnight travel (up to 20%) 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test 

  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications 

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent 

  • Capabilities with a programming language, such as Python, Java etc. 

  • Experience with mid-to-long range manpower and resource planning systems and techniques 

  • Experience in optimization models, linear and integer programming and or simulation 

Crewmember Expectations:  

  • Regular attendance and punctuality 

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice 

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance 

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers  are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards 

  • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))  


  • Computer and other office equipment 

  • Occasional trips to the airport may require special equipment – ear plugs, safety vests, and steel-toed boots 

Work Environment:  

  • Standard office environment. 

  • Present during core business hours with extended hours when operationally necessary. 

Physical Effort:   

  • Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)
