Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Care Experience, this role will support the department in planning and deploying system-wide Care Experience initiatives. The scope of this role spans across all care settings including, inpatient, post-acute, ambulatory care, home health, behavioral health and emergency department services.  A prospective candidate must be affluent in project management, organizational skills, data reporting and analysis, visual storytelling and relationship management. This role will be essential in driving forth the organizational values of ICARE and aiding in the cultural transformation at NYC Health + Hospitals.


  • Implement strategic plan and tactical plans as set forth by the Director of Care Experience and Chief Wellness Officer
  • Apply organizational change management methodology to support adoption of behavioral changes outlined in the ICARE model, both at the organizational as well as local levels
  • Partner with Director of Care Experience for analysis and distribution of system-wide patient experience and employee engagement metrics.
  • Engage Care Experience Officers to identify the needs and parameters and provide recommendations for emerging initiatives across all service lines
  • Develop training curriculum for working within all Care Experience data systems
  • Facilitate training classes and workshops, develops and administers competencies, and evaluates training effectiveness
  • Prepare aesthetically appealing, accurate, timely reports, documents, and presentations utilizing appropriate software applications
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across all departments and levels of the organizational hierarchy
  • Prepare presentations for varying levels of the organization that promote effective data storytelling in order to gain insight and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Represent the Care Experience Team in departmental steering committees to drive forth emotional and psychological well-being
  • Conduct transactions for requisitions and ordering of supplies within Patient Experience cost center
  • Maintain an understanding of industry leading practices to propose novel care experience solutions to support organizational needs when necessary
  • Perform ad hoc departmental related tasks as needed


Minimum Qualifications

1. A Masters degree in Arts or Science with a specialization in hospital administration, health care administration, administrative medicine or in public health when conferred for a program in hospital administration, from an approved college or university; or a Baccalaureate degree; and,
2. One (1) year of administrative experience and background; or,
3. An equivalent combination of training, education and experience in related fields and educational disciplines; and,
4. General knowledge of policies and programs utilized in the operation of a health care facility, ability to assimilate and analyze data, to recommend action based on analytical findings, and to assist in the solution of complex problems in health care administration and management.

Department Preferences

  • A Master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology; or
  • a Baccalaureate degree; and, one (1) year of administrative experience and background; or;
  • an equivalent combination of training, education and experience in related fields and educational disciplines.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, highly analytical and possess strong independent problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet adapting deadlines.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project and SharePoint
  • Training Skills; ability to learn and train courses to various levels of staff
  • Facilitation Skills; ability to facilitate process improvement teams
  • Ability to create e-learning courses; proficiency in Articulate and Storyline
  • Ability to navigate through sensitive situations and understand how and when to escalate issues. 
  • Excellent communications skills, as demonstrated by ability to distill complex information into succinct, relatable messaging and by ability to converse effectively with professionals of varying technical and clinical background.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a fast moving team.
