Description:

National Marketing Operations provides enterprise level support and oversight of print, fulfillment, digital design, video, direct mail, e-mail, marketing automation, content solutions, events marketing, SMS, IVR, and health plan administrative correspondence. One of our primary goals is improved agility, alignment, and efficiencies to yield best in class outcomes, in a speed to market environment, using an agile approach (people, process, technology) to the execution.

Intern Project Description:

This summer an intern will be working on a business process improvement project that involves reviewing the existing end-to-end campaign execution processes for the primary outbound marketing channels (direct mail, IVR, SMS, and Email). They will be looking at this cross functionally and departmentally with an eye toward creating efficiencies and speed to market. This internship will play a key role in the business process assessment work and be responsible for process improvement activities.

Process management functions may include: 

Data gathering and analysis 

- Best practice research

- Process mapping

- Developing and recommending alternatives forimprovement

- Developing supporting performance metrics  

- Gathering business requirements and related impact analyses for complex processes or for portions of larger or inter-related processes 

- Obtaining leadership or stakeholder agreements

- Utilize Lean/Six Sigma processes and concepts to lead process improvement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

This is a business process role, so this person must have broad knowledge of process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean/Six Sigma). This person should also be highly collaborative, inquisitive, and comfortable with reviewing process architecture and design.

Essential Functions:

- Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.

- Report development and analytics.

- Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.

- Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.

- Job shadowing in other functional areas.

- Performing additional duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

- N/A.

Education

- Pursuing a graduate degree or have completed a graduate program from an accredited university within the last year.

- Bachelor's degree required.

License, Certification, Registration

- N/A.

Additional Requirements:

- Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions.

- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 3.0 GPA or above

- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.

- Responsible for process improvement activities. 

- Process management functions may include data gathering and analysis, best practice research, process mapping, developing and recommending alternatives for improvement, developing performance metrics, obtaining leadership or stakeholder agreement. 

- May utilize Lean/Six Sigma processes and concepts to lead process improvement initiatives.
