Job Description

Under the supervision of the Senior Officer, Global Communications, the Communications Intern will support PCI’s storytelling and marketing efforts to increase visibility, fundraising and support for our programs.


  • Write for PCI website, blog and social media accounts.
  • Assist in planning and writing for quarterly eNewsletter.
  • Create infographics, videos and other multimedia content.
  • Assist with uploading and organizing program photos, videos and other media on PCI’s internal archive; track and log external media clips about PCI.
  • Collaborate with staff on story ideas and new strategies for marketing and communications.


  • Current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a communications, public relations, journalism, English, international development, or related degree program.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.

  • Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for creating compelling content, from social media posts and press releases to blog entries, feature stories and short multimedia projects.
  • Interest in NGOs and international health and development.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Core MS Office skills including: Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and WordPress.


  • Video and audio production/editing experience using iMovie, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Audition, Audacity, etc.


We are looking for dedicated individuals willing to commit to approximately a 3-month internship in our Washington, D.C.-based office during regular business hours.
