Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer-RD 14037



Description

 
 Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies, USA, LLC seeks a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer in Columbus, Indiana, to perform CFD engineering analysis for the design and development of light and commercial vehicle emissions systems, including Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), and hot- and cold-end exhaust systems. National and international travel 10%.  Duties:  perform CFD analyses and provide product design recommendations for light and commercial vehicle emissions systems development, to include review of flow noise, back pressure, thermal, and emission control performance factors; c orrelate CFD models to physical test data to predict emissions system performance and drive design improvements; p erform Lagrangian multiphase CFD analysis to evaluate mixing performance and spray/flow field for SCR systems; p erform multiphase CFD analysis to model compressible air flow and heat transfer for exhaust heat recovery systems; p erform transient CFD analysis to evaluate and optimize oxygen sensor performance; use HyperMesh and STAR-CCM+ to optimize the design of catalytic converter components; p erform steady state and transient aero-acoustic analyses to optimize the performance of cold-end exhaust components, including resonators, mufflers, and tail pipes; d aily exchange and coordination with off-site CFD analysis team to aid US exhaust system development.  



Qualifications

 

 

Minimum education required:   Master degree in Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or foreign equivalent degree.  Minimum experience required:  1 year’ work experience in a CFD engineering position with an automotive emissions systems supplier.  Special experience required:  Must have 1 year’ work experience in each of the following:  l ight vehicle and commercial vehicle exhaust system CFD analysis for flow behavior, back pressure, thermal, and emission control performance factors; use of steady and transient aero-acoustic CFD tools to calculate flow noise for cold-end exhaust systems; use of HyperMesh and STAR-CCM+ to optimize design of catalytic converter components; multiphase CFD analysis to model compressible air flow and heat transfer for exhaust heat recovery systems; Lagrangian multiphase CFD analysis to optimize SCR mixing systems with reduced emissions; d evelopment of vehicle exhaust system engineering with off-site CFD teams using shared information.  Experience may be acquired concurrently.   Resumes to Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies, USA, LLC, Attn: Anna Rossi, 2800 High Meadow Circle, Auburn Hills, Michigan 48326, or apply online at http://www.faurecia.com/ (Job # RD14037).
