JOB SUMMARY
The Cost Analyst Intern will support and assist the development and maintenance of a Cost Estimating and Relationship System (CERS) to be used in the prevention of both production and development proposals. Assists in the managing, developing and maintaining systems and procedures by which a CERS database is created and incorporated at Meggitt Defense Systems. Assists in providing proposal teams and managers cost estimating data to include past actuals and/or analysis to assist in the preparation of well-defended and auditable proposals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a "support" position, and will support and assist the execution of all company Cost Analysis activities. Assist with the preparation of methodologies to collect, analyze and prepare actual project cost data for use in future proposals. Assist with the collection, coordination and development of Cost Estimating Relationships (CER) Tools for use within the organization. Work with Program Management/EVMS to map and create standardized and project specific Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to enable a more efficient method for capturing project actual labor and material costs for future use.

" Assist with statistical process analysis in support of active programs and ongoing proposal efforts.
" Assists the subject matter experts for aspects of pricing and cost estimating, use of Work Breakdown Structures, Work Measurement, and other proper project charging tools/strategies.
" Work with the EVMS department to become fully knowledgeable in the Deltek Costpoint ERP and the COBRA financial systems, which fully integrate the database used for pricing, scheduling, estimating and cost collection purposes.
" Assists with maintaining the historical data base for projects and proposals.
" Assists Engineering, Program Management & Pricing in developing the proposal basis of estimates to ensure that supportable, well-defined estimates for the Statement of Work (SOW) are presented in the proposal cost volume.
" Supports contract negotiations and government audit activities.

EDUCATION:
Current Student (BS Degree in Contract/Business Mgmt). Must have completed two years of college courses. Completion of three years preferred. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better is preferred. Full-time during the summer and part-time availability Monday - Friday during the school year.
