Job Description


This is a career opportunity with Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

Basic Purpose: Respond to all basic requests of Guests. Maintain the cleanliness of the Hotel guest facilities and public areas in accordance with all Housekeeping procedures, safety and security standards to maximize guest satisfaction.

Full time Position. $16.00/hr. Full Benefits. Time: 10:30 pm to 6:00 am

Procedure:

  • Pick-up keys and communication device, inform PBX when you're on duty and when your shift ends.
  • Report to PM supervisor to review and discuss focus of the day, current projects and assign areas concerning cleanliness.

Note: You may be asked to perform job duties and additional work as requested or to do special projects (carpet shampoo) as necessary for the operation of the Hotel.
  • Pick-up the Daily Checklist/Work assignment sheet before your shift begins.
  • Mop and clean the lobby floor, vacuum carpet inside/outside of the Hotel and underneath the sofa. Spot check every two hours or as needed.
  • Clean and mop the stairs from Lower Lobby to the Restaurant with hot water and Heavy-Duty solutions every night during or before the end of every shift.
  • Clean and mop public bathroom floors, deep clean toilet bowl and spray counter and sink area down with Disinfectant and Heavy-Duty bathroom cleaner. Lower Lobby, 3rd, and 5th floor must be locked at 11:00pm by informing security on duty.

Cleaning Fitness Center

Clean and mop the floor with hot water, disinfect all exercise machines with anti-bacterials, clean mirrors and windows. Scented towels must be well stocked. Finish up with air freshener.

As a Houseperson, routinely check every two hours and remove trash, old newspapers, bottles and glasses and ensure exercise equipment is in working order.

  • Empty the trash and replace any wastebasket liners.
  • Empty all dirty towels, drop in Laundry and restock with fresh and clean towels for the next shift.

Cleaning Guest Facilities/Public Areas
  • It is important to be checking walls, carpets and ceiling for stains if needed. Remove any smudges with a damp cloth and all-purpose cleaning solution if required. Inspect the condition of furniture's.
  • Clean and mop the elevator floors, polish inside and outside elevator doors, walls every night during or before the end of every shift.
  • Sweep the sidewalk in front of the Hotel, 6th Ave entrance, around the valet area, and smoking area every night during or before the end of every shift.
  • Disinfect Business center area, computers, desk, chairs, and furniture's and Front desk area.
  • Empty the trash and replace any wastebasket liners.

Final Check:

All guest requests responded and completed in timely manner and issues should be reported to PM Supervisor to ensure guest satisfaction.

Return keys and communication device to PM Supervisor on duty with completed work assignment sheet.
