Job Description
The director of CAP oversees a staff of 25 fulltime professional staff and over 20 graduate and undergraduate student employees. The ideal director will be able to: ? Anticipate and identify trends and adapt approaches and services to meet emerging needs and priorities. ? Possess excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with internal and external constituents ? Demonstrate commitment to staff growth and development. ? Oversee fiscal planning and budget management. ? Delegate, multi-task, manage multiple priorities. ? Understand current and emerging technologies to support program effectiveness. ? Demonstrate a deep commitment to student development and providing quality services and resources to meet their needs. The position serves as a collaborative partner with various constituents (e.g.: college deans, alumni, employers, etc.), as a member of the Student Affairs leadership team, and as the primary administrator for the department. Duties and responsibilities fall under broad categories, including: ? Commitment to the University mission ? Strategic Vision, Planning and Direction ? Management and Leadership of Career and Academic Planning ? Career and Academic Planning Staffing ? Communication ? Assessment, Evaluation, Reporting  
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess: ? A Masters degree in higher education, student personnel, human resource management, or related area. ? Full-time professional experience with increasing leadership responsibilities in career development, academic advising, employer relations, and/or other relevant experience. ? Experience supervising full-time professional staff. Preferred qualifications include: ? Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and meeting the diverse needs of a college student population. ? Evidence of ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, faculty, employers and the university community. ? Demonstrated commitment to promoting staff growth and development. ? Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team on departmental, divisional and institutional levels. ? Experience with planning, assessment, evaluation, and utilizing data to inform program improvement.
