Employment Law Intern-EMP0000J
The Prudential 3L Employment Law Internship is a great way to gain experience in the legal field supporting the Employment and Labor Law Department of Prudential, a global financial services company. As a Prudential Employment Law intern, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team within a great environment, earn money during your third year of law school, and add valuable work history to your resume.
In this paid intern role, you will be tasked with assisting Prudential’s Employment Law team in providing Employment and Labor Law support to international and US businesses areas.
During the internship, you will be asked to assist with a variety of tasks typical in an in-house Employment Law department, including, but not limited to:
Legal research (domestic and international) of Employment and Labor issues and drafting of legal memoranda and other documentation;
Drafting and/or revising policies and procedures;
Monitoring and reporting on new and amended state and federal laws affecting Prudential’s domestic and international workforce; and
Working closely with experienced Employment Law attorneys to facilitate the delivery of legal advice to internal clients.
You will be mentored by experienced legal staff. Your internship will begin in September of 2017 and continue through May 2018 (and possibly longer), and requires a time commitment of 15 to 19 hours per week.
Be enrolled as a third-year law student in good standing at an ABA accredited law school with a minimum GPA of 3.0;
Have a demonstrated interest in Employment and Labor Law and completed classes in this area
Possess e xcellent communication skills, both verbal and written (a writing sample may be requested);
Have a strong ability and willingness to learn and collaborate;
Demonstrate excellent computer and Microsoft applications skills;
Show excellent judgment and the ability to effectively handle sensitive and confidential information;
Have strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
