Job Description

Under the direction of the PAC EMR Project Manager, the EMR Clinical Educator/Implementation Specialist will provide training and technical support to clinical staff within the 5 post-acute care facilities. Will serve as key team members in the design, development and implementation process and ongoing maintenance of the Post-Acute Care Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System


  • Provides training to clinical staff at all PAC facilities during implementation period to ensure staff have sufficient knowledge and ability to navigate the Point-Click Care EMR system.
  • Provides ongoing education to PAC clinical staff to allow for optimization of system and ensure data integrity and promotes patient safety, confidentiality and efficiency.
  • Supports clinical staff with technical issues
  • Assists in defining project scope and objectives and resources
  • In conjunction with EMR Project Manager, identifies changes to project scope and/or schedule and communicates relevant changes with stakeholders.
  • Conducts weekly audits of EMR system and reports information to EMR Project Manager and CNO.
  • Identifies and makes recommendations for process improvements to supervisor.
  • Communicates clinical concerns to EMR Project Manager
  • Works with Enterprise support team to ensure that user issues are addressed in timely manner.
  • Completes additional Tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Public Health, Psychology, Personnel Administration, Management or Public Administration or a related approved discipline; and
2. Four years of progressively responsible experience in planning and manpower development and training programs, medical or public health administration, or other fields related to training, development and manpower analysis, of which at least one year must have been in a managerial, supervisory or administrative capacity related to the organization, formulation, development and implementation of such plans and programs; or
3. A masters degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Management, Social Work, Medical Administration, Psychology, Personnel Administration, Public Administration or a related approved field, with three years of experience as described in (2) above and one year in a managerial, supervisory or administrative capacity; and
4. Extensive knowledge of the principals of training and manpower development programs and ability to analyze and determine the needs of the Corporation; or
5. A satisfactory combination of training, education and experience indicating the ability to perform satisfactorily.

Department Preferences

  • 2 + years of experience in the Long-Term Care Setting
  • Expertise in LTC EMR utilization, preferably  Point Click Care  
  • Excellent problem solving skills: Adapt in response to new information, shifting priorities, changing conditions, or un-expected obstacles.
  • Strong communication and integration skills: Ability to train, and ability to effectively communicate with Users & EMR Team including listening, asking relevant questions, giving appropriate guidance and feedback.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of EMR application configuration and end user data entry.
