The Engineer - Field 2 performs a wide variety of maintenance on aircraft flight control systems and inspections on aircraft. Tows and positions aircraft.  Removes and installs aircraft hydraulic components, landing gear, tires and struts.  Performs engine removals and installations.   Checks for work correctness.  Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and recommends corrective action.  Implements preventive maintenance programs and keeps performance and maintenance records on equipment.  Position will require travel CONUS and OCONUS.  OCONUS travel will include rotational deployments of approximately 60 days in length.

 

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years applicable experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. Position requires an ACTIVE secret security clearance renewed within 6 years.

  • Must have an A&P License
  • Must be highly skilled, with a high degree of tact and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Position requires daily interface with customers at numerous levels.
  • Must be able to pass FAA Class III flight physical and complete altitude chamber training.

Desired Skills:
  • Turbo Prop experience desirable. 
  • Ability to work alone or within a group. 
  • Ability to use a wide variety of technical data from OEM manuals to engineering drawings.

Physical requirements:
  • Position will include lifting, bending, and climbing.
  • Flight status is a requirement.
  • Must be able to pass FAA Class III flight physical and complete altitude chamber training.

Position requires an ACTIVE secret DoD security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
