Position Overview 

Reporting to the Events Manager, the Events Developer Specialist is responsible for developing, planning and supervising events, coordinating events that enhance the 
marketing opportunities of MetroPlus.



Job Description

  • Serve as a liaison to school’s regions, religious organizations, network facilities, community boards, faith organizations, BID’S, etc. to build relationships and identify community needs.
  • Coordinate with Community Based Organizations, network facilities, marketing personnel and other participants as needed for the success and completion of all events. 
  • Solicit and coordinate entertainment and other related event promotional effort for the success and completion of event and initiatives, i.e. media coverage, advertisement, children and adult entertainment, music, refreshments, etc. 
  • Coordinate requisitions needed to secure events supplies, materials, equipment, etc. Analyze and assess of community needs utilizing periodic market research data, database maintenance and internal data archives.
  • Actively use administrative technology to facilitate efficient planning and organization (i.e. Microsoft Office Excel, Publisher, Power Point, and Word, MetroPlus Marketing Scheduler and Events Planner databases). 
  • Create and formulate events, flyers, letters, memorandums, and correspondence. 
  • Travel to various sites to attend meetings with key managed care staff and facility operations to solidify all arrangements being made for respective events. (Motor vehicle is mandatory) 
  • Supervise and monitor weekend and evening events, as well assist at other necessary after-hours activities as required 
  • Act as an on-site delegate for key decisions in arranging events approved by MetroPlus, in the absence of the EDM of Marketing 
  • Coordinate and staff community relations and public relations activities that promote managed care and the Plan that may occur during evening, and weekend working hours. 
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings (one-on-one) with EDM, provide reports and daily updates of departmental activity.
  • Submit weekly schedule of appointments, presentations, meetings, etc. 
  • Works closely with EDM in ensuring that maximum enrollment is achieved through the planning strategies implemented for everyone. 
  • Other various duties as determined by the Events Developer Manager 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Two years’ experience in planning events 
  • Two years’ experience in Sales and Marketing, preferably in Managed Care.
  • Community organization development experience a plus. 
  • Must be willing and able to work in a multi-racial, multi-ethnic work situation.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn. 
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills. 
  • Must have good teaching/ educational skills. 
  • Excellent oral communication skills and oral presentation skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and goal directed. 
  • Must present an appropriate appearance and demeanor consistent with representing MetroPlus in the Community. 
  • Must be comfortable with use of audio/visuals equipment. 
  • Must possess good public speaking skills. 
  • Must have excellent writing skills. 
  • Knowledge of PC software and applications

Licensure and/or Certification Required
