The Blinds.com team is looking for a Compensation Accountant to work their magic with entering and maintaining our 275+ associate compensation files, performance based compensation, and audits. The process should result in a more efficient timeline of processing and auditing of sensitive information. The Compensation Accountant is a unique, new role on our Accounting team that will require someone with a knack for employee relations, organization, and a great fondness for numbers.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
40%- Maintains and calculates performance based compensation using SQL queries, analytical skills, and tiered calculations. 
25%- Processes payroll weekly using HD systems (Kronos) and initiates journal entries, ensuring payroll data is complete and accurate by researching, reconciling, and resolving all payroll related discrepancies, issues, or questions in a timely manner
10%- Provides oversight and periodic audits related to the calculation of Performance Based Compensation, escalating matters of concern to the Controller or CFO
10%- Reconciles biweekly payroll runs with monthly labor reports, and sets up payroll accrual with detailed emphasis on departmental labor rates, variances, and PBC
10%- Audits departmental headcount and allocations monthly, and generates ad-hoc, on-demand reports when requested
5%- Maintains strong partnerships with Home Depot core payroll team, internal People Strategy partners, and our leadership team
NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager.
This position has no direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment: 
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel: 
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
Accounting Degree.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 - 5 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Additional Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of past payroll experience dealing with salary, hourly, and complex bonus plans
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

SQL experience, specifically to pull and manipulate data

Detail oriented
Strong analytical skills
Able to work independently and take initiative
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a strong emphasis on outstanding customer service
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite including proficiency in Excel
