We are currently seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our team in Silver Spring, Maryland (US-MD), United States (US).

General Duties:

• Responsible to fix defects, write code and scripts for enhancements, maintain software applications to meet functional and technical specifications
• Work with team leads to understand the requirements specifications and help in designing and developing the software solution
• Responsible for maintaining the high level of software through code inspection, process refinement, improvement, and implementation
• Work with all aspects of the SDLC group assisting with producing the highest quality, secure system possible

Required Skillset:

• 2+ years of experience in J2EE technologies along with strong experience in SQL, PL/SQL and Enterprise Service Bus
• 1+ years of experience in Unix Shell Scripting and Linux OS environments
• 1+ years’ experience with Agile Development methodologies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills 

Desired Skillset:

• Experience with Agile Development methodologies
• Understanding of systems architecture and how to implement software and maintenance process to reduce risks
• Experience with Postgres SQL
• Knowledge of configuration management best practices
• Understanding of software quality development and implementation, software inspection, testing, verification and validation, and software development and maintenance processes and methods

Required Education:

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum 3.0 GPA

US Citizenship with ability to obtain clearance
