Red Hat's Commercial Legal team is looking for an intern to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will conduct legal research and analysis, and assist with licensing matters, including open source. We'll need you to have great critical thinking and analysis skills. This is a great opportunity to work with a variety of experienced legal and technical professionals in a fast-paced setting.

 

This role is part of Red Hat's 2017 summer intern program, which begins in early June and lasts 10-12 weeks.



  • Conduct legal research on key issues facing Red Hat and prominent issues in the technology and open source industries
  • Provide support and assistance to Red Hat commercial attorneys worldwide on various matters.
  • Help construct and manage legal and related information repositories


  • Legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including the ability towork with spreadsheets and document management systems
  • Contract review skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to quickly synthesize and explain complex legal issues
  • Technical or software background is preferred
  • Must be currently enrolled in a JD degree program at an ABA accredited law school and graduating no sooner than December 2017
  • 2L or 3L preferred
