The Marriage and Family Therapist - Licensed will assist with the Acceptance Commitment Therapy Group. The LMFT assists patients and families with behavioral health and environmental resources to reach the maximum level of functioning during the current episode of care. This position is responsible for conducting behavioral health psychosocial assessments and clinical interventions, inclusive of individual, group, and family therapy in the partial hospitalization and structured outpatient programs. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team, coordinates patient care and provides case management for assigned patients.
Adult Outpatient Services at the Mid City location is a highly intensive treatment program that treats both young adults in the Transitional Age Youth (TAY) program experiencing mood disorders, thought disorders and co-occurring mental health issues as well as adults managing more chronic symptoms of mental illness. Both programs offer a support therapeutic setting for patients experiencing significant disruption in daily living and takes a short term, group-oriented, modified cognitive-behavior approach.

Sharp Mesa Vista provides inpatient care and offers outpatient programs throughout the community.
This position is located at the Mid City Campus. Therapist will work across multiple outpatient programs where need is in demand. Geographic locations include the following 3 campuses: East County, Mid City and San Diego Main campus, San Diego County.
8-hour day shift: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm; no weekends. This is a .8 position: 64 hours per 2 week pay period. **Employees assigned to 64 hours or more per pay period will be eligible for the same benefits as a full-time employee.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Psychology from an accredited program
- Current unencumbered State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association
- One year recent experience in a behavioral health setting
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience treating patients with mood disorders
- Experience in an intensive outpatient mental health setting
- ACT experience
- Harm reduction and crisis management skills
