Purpose of the role

This role sits within the Numeric Middle Office Accounting team. This candidate will support Portfolio and Asset Management activities and will assist the fund accounting team in maintaining the books and records of hedge funds and SMAs. This includes credit and equity focused products such as corporate bonds, CDS, futures, interest rate swaps, equity swaps, and forward FXs.

Specific responsibilities

  • Prepare daily P&L reporting for internal distribution including processing all fund activity in the portfolio accounting system
  • Review Net Asset Value (NAV) of funds on a daily, weekly and monthly basis including checking accrued income and expenses.
  • Liaise with the fund administrator/s to reconcile fund NAVs
  • Ensure the quality and effectiveness of the pricing governance and controls are maintained through identification and mitigation of pricing risks and the communication/documentation of any enhancements to the framework
  • Assist in review and resolution of cash, position, and accrual break
  • Support new business transitions and migration projects
  • Assist in the review of fund financial statements

Key competencies

  • Undergraduate/Graduate Degree with a preferred major in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other relevant coursework and a strong overall academic performance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • 2+ years of experience as a Performance Analyst and/or Fund Accountant at a leading investment manager, custodian bank, or fund administrator essential
  • Knowledge of a broad range of investment products
  • Problem solving skills the ability to analyse and challenge conventional thought processes and use experience and/or intuition to create pragmatic solutions
  • Communication, organisation and presentation skills together with the ability to confidently deal with multiple senior stakeholders
