Position Description
The Program Manager will be responsible for coordinating efforts to define and execute both client and internal facing initiatives across the MSH Technology and Analytics Portfolio—focusing predominantly on MSH’s web-based electronic medical records, iKnowMed and iKnowMed Generation 2 (collectively known as iKM) and inventory management system, LynxMobile. The Program Manager will be able to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment and assist the Senior Program Manager to implement optimal planning, decision-making, and project execution processes across key initiatives and cross-functional teams.
 
Day to day, the Program Manager oversees and directs the activities of technical and other personnel, including vendors and consultants, to ensure the successful completion of multiple projects and adherence to quality standards, budgetary guidelines, and timelines. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Helping cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and execute key activities related to the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of the iKM and LynxMobile products.

  • Assisting Product Owners/Managers and Subject Matter Experts in translating business/user requirements into technical specifications and action items for execution

  • Documenting, archiving, and disseminating critical information regarding projects

  • Managing the iKM and LynxMobile team’s contracting and licensing relationships

  • Coordinating the iKM team’s efforts and plans with those of other products across the MSH Technology and Analytics Solutions Portfolio as well as IT and other MSH business groups

 
 
Key Responsibilities:
PROJECT/PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

  • Collaborates with Portfolio Strategy and Product Owners/Managers to define, prioritize, track, and drive the progress of key initiatives involving the iKM and LynxMobile

  • Works with technical teams and leaders to continually clarify and refine project objectives, acceptance criteria, budget, and workplan and procure appropriate resources (e.g., licenses, contractors, etc.)

  • Plans and facilitates cross-functional team and client meetings/forums –e.g., scrum—to drive collaboration, alignment, and decision making

  • Maintains program/initiative level project plans and tracking logs as appropriate, identifies blockers/risks, and crafts recommendations for resolution or escalation

  • Monitors department/team level budget against plan on a monthly basis and works with Portfolio Directors/Managers and Program Managers to conduct analysis if established thresholds are not met

  • Curates/documents critical information regarding project deliverables and progress and proactively disseminates updates to stakeholders within and outside of those initiatives

  • Helps define initiative/team specific policies and processes around use of shared accounts, tools, systems and serves as co-administrator
 

Qualifications

 
Minimum Requirements
3+ years’ experience in project management and demonstrated leadership skills.
 
Critical Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience managing cross-functional programs/projects.

  • 1-2 years’ working in software development environment or on projects involving a technical deliverable

  • Detailed understanding of and experience with Agile project planning and management methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Scaled Agile, Kanban) and workflow process documentation and operational improvement.

  • Intermediate financial and statistical analysis skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer/stakeholder management skills

  • Advanced skills with technology focused project management tools—e.g., Atlassian, Trello, etc.—and Microsoft Office Suite including MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Project and MS Visio

 
Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience within the healthcare IT and/or healthcare field with knowledge of medical business process, operations and tools and strong plus

  • Certification and practical experience in Agile, Lean/Six Sigma, and/or PMP, a plus

  • Basic knowledge of EHR technology and architecture a plus

 
Education
4-year degree or related field or equivalent experience.  B.S. or B.A. in Finance, Business, Technology, preferred.
 
Physical Requirements
General professional office environment.
20% Travel may be required
