Job Description

To provide quality educational programs that enable incarcerated adults to become responsible, productive, tax-paying members of their community. To facilitate active and ongoing academic achievement in the adult correctional facilities, with particular focus on TABE Intake Testing of reception offenders, GED® TABE, CASAS, CRC test administration, collection and analysis of student testing data upon reception at all facilities, and reporting of such data and associated recommendations to those who plan and administer instructional programs and staff development. To assist with training to instructional staff based upon educational best practices and Adult Education Standards. To assist in the management TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education), related protocols, and in interpretation of national and state regulations and guidelines. Provide on-site support to adult facilities which includes administering standardized assessments. This position will require some overnight travel. The role is also responsible to oversee and manage academic assessments and data outcomes, related protocols, and interpretation of national, and state regulations and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs and GMail. Must have a Virginia Teacher's License. Knowledge of, and experience with, adult learning theories and practices, various standardized assessments and resource materials appropriate to adult learners. Knowledge of federal and state policies, procedures, reporting mandates and regulations pertaining to Adult Basic Education and approved correlated assessments. Must have the experience in designing and facilitating trainings/workshops to staff and strong data analytic skills. Familiarity with student placement based upon diverse student population, learning strategies and testing accommodations. The ability to use computer software applications for generation of timely and accurate program reports, data base management, spreadsheets and multimedia presentations is required. Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills. Must be certified to administer TABE, CRC, CASAS, and GED®. Must have the experience in designing and facilitating trainings/workshops to staff and strong data analytic skills.
Preferred Qualifications
College degree in Education or related field with at least 3 years related work experience in adult education assessments and evaluation which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the responsibilities required.
