Senior Buyer - Shinko - Sunnyvale, CA-FTB00164


Oversee network of suppliers. Manage successful purchase and delivery of goods and services.   Communicate effectively and act as liaison between sales, suppliers and overseas factories.  Build solid relationships with vendors at all levels to maintain good communication flow.  Manage communication and documentation carefully, timely and effectively.  Proactively coordinate and address pricing, lead times, delivery schedules and delivery-related issues such as push-pulls and expedites for appropriate resolution.  Handle purchase orders, spot orders and consignment orders correctly and in a timely manner.  Collect and communicate supplier delivery commits.  Create and issue all related paperwork.  Create and share forecasts with key suppliers.  Maintain supplier database.  Manage reports, including supplier scorecards and forecasts versus capacity.  Respond in a timely and thorough manner to requests from internal and external customers, suppliers and factories for information, proposals, meetings and solutions.  Travel domestically and internationally as needed and utilize expense account with prudent judgement.  Attend local and overseas technical training as required.  Entertain customers and suppliers and care for overseas visitors as required and in accordance with set policies, to include accompanying them to visit suppliers and possibly overseas factory visits.  Perform any other job-related tasks required by management to support the Company at all times.


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.  Equivalence is determined by management.  A minimum of 6 to 8 years of related skills, knowledge, and experience for each job level.  Demonstrated history of success with analysis, calculation and negotiation.  Strong knowledge of principles and processes for relationship-building and providing a high level of customer service.  Communicate effectively verbally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.  Effective use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.  Good working knowledge of computers and Windows software.  Ability to travel domestically and overseas.  Travel for this position is expected to be very limited.
