High School Diploma or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience


Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for an Entry Level Software Configuration Manager to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports our nation’s fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with the government to develop solutions that allow them to carry out submarine missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to deliver end-to-end solutions in mission systems integration, development, and operations support to fleets and the organization. Looking for a self-starter to work with the Configuration Management (CM) team to receive and manage our change management repository (JIRA) for the program. As a member of the CM team, this individual will be responsible for working with our configuration management tools (JIRA and Bitbucket) and supporting configuration identification, control, reporting, release and delivery of products and systems. This employee will perform configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new product operating parameters are documented, comply with standards and are logistically sustainable. When unexpected changes in delivery schedule occur, a strong ability to reassess and reprioritize tasking will be required.

  • Ability to deal with multiple deadlines as well as late breaking deadlines

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word

  • Ability to assess and reprioritize tasking according to unexpected changes in delivery schedule


Preferred Skills and Expertise:

  • Experience in Configuration Management, Office Management, or Administrative Assistant

  • Experience with CM database tools with Jira and Bitbucket
