Job Description
Virginia Tax's Office of Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Programmer Analyst for their team. This position will provide analysis, design, and program development activities which will create computer applications that: allow for timely processing of tax information, provide accurate information to taxpayers and tax employees, and allow for the timely deposit of tax collections. Critical Duties & Responsibilities: * Provide analysis, design and program development activities which will create computer applications. This includes performing maintenance and enhancement activities to the Business Intelligence reports subsystems to provide accurate information to taxpayers and Virginia Tax employees * Support and implement yearly legislative changes passed by the General Assembly * Perform report, dashboard, and program development in support of existing environments as assigned * Provide project support by analyzing and researching problems, assisting Systems Analyst with technical evaluations, assisting fellow team members with technical problems, and performing ad hoc requests when necessary Did you know that over 8 million citizens rely on more than $26.1 billion of revenue the Virginia Department of Taxation collects to fund government services that affect their daily lives? Virginia Tax, headquartered in Richmond, is responsible for administering 37 state and local taxes, sales and use taxes, and miscellaneous excise taxes with integrity, efficiency, and consistency. Virginia Tax works directly with individual and business taxpayers and local governments to ensure the Commonwealth's revenue is collected and taxes administered with fairness, diligence, and integrity.  
Minimum Qualifications
* Significant experience with Tableau, Salesforce, SAP-Business Objects or equivalency to create reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboards * Considerable experience with Oracle, SQL, T-SQL, and stored procedures * Significant experience independently analyzing program specifications to code and test programs according to specifications * Experience solving automated system problems and working in a team environment * Experience working within an Agile and/or Scrum project management methodology * Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
Preferred Qualifications
* Demonstrated proficiency with Java, (or C#, .NET Framework), and Visual Studio 2013 and above * Proficiency in Object Oriented programming, analysis, and design techniques * Experience with Linux, Unix shell scripting * Experience with HTML, XML, JavaScript frameworks * Project management certification
