    The Shipping Supervisor is assigned to our state-of-the-art Super Plant in Sioux City South, IA.  The primary role of a Shipping Supervisor is to ensure a safe and clean work environment and lead and direct plant and  shipping and warehousing activities such that orders are banded, stored, and delivered according to customer requirements and organization goals are achieved. The Supervisor will manage and coordinate the efforts of hourly employees.
    How you will Impact WestRock
    •Prioritize and assign work, and monitor safety, quality and quantity of the work performed.
    Manage activities of multiple warehouse facilities.
    •Communicate department and plant goals.
    •Serve as coach and counselor for department employees regarding performance.
    •Schedule shipments and dock times; dispatches loads.
    •Order materials, parts, and supplies as required.
    •Implement continuous improvement projects and cost reduction ideas.
    •Manage trailers and shipping bays for optimum utilization.
    •Take and maintaining accurate inventories.
    •Ensure employees perform required inspections and tests.
    •Follow all safety rules and practices.
    •Prepare and maintains accurate records.
    •Build department teamwork.
    What you need to succeed:
    •The ideal candidate will be a team-builder, action-oriented individual. The ability to lead and hold people accountable.
    •Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office, JD Edwards.  Knowledge of industry software KIWI a plus, organized and innovative.
    •3 to 5 years’ of shipping experience in a supervisory or management role. Experience working with rail cars a plus.
    •Any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key
    responsibilities of this position.
    •Packaging industry experience (paperboard and/or corrugated) preferred.
    •Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
    •Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
    •Strong interpersonal relations and written communication skills.
    •Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, use appropriate safety
    equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
  •   Ability to work a off shift.
