We are currently seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our team in Silver Spring, Maryland (US-MD), United States (US).

General Duties/Experience:

• Interface with the whole SDLC team and ensures the quality of the release delivered to the customer.  
• Executing and tracking the status of tests throughout the lifecycle of a release
• Maintaining the test suite, both automated and manual test cases
• Understanding of testing principles and tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.

Required Skillset :

• Four or more years directly related to software testing.

• Bachelor of Science, BS in Math, Science or Engineering related field

• Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain Public Trust clearance - candidate must be able to pass a National Agency Check (NAC).

• Experience with Test-Driven-Development (TDD)

• Knowledge of JavaScript, Python and Bash Scripting.
• Knowledge and understanding of a Linux OS.

Desired Skillset:

• Demonstrated personal ownership of job responsibilities.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to correlate disparate data sources to identify systemic trends.
• Working knowledge, at a minimum, of the following: Redmine workflow management tool; Remedy Service management application; GIT distributed version-control system Command Line Interface (not GIT Hub web UI); Gerrit code collaboration tool, Jenkins automation server; SonarQube; QF-Test)
• Understanding of SAFe principles, especially with regards to test approach.
• Background in weather or weather-based systems,
