Sr. Contracts Administrator

Meggitt Defense Systems, Inc. is looking for a Contracts professional who will represent the company in the procurement, negotiation and administration of contracts for goods or services. This person will ensure that contracts with customers are fulfilled satisfactorily and that favorable relationships with customers are maintained. Duties include providing interpretation of contract provisions, screening and processing customer inquiries to insure prompt handling, monitoring progress of work performed under the contract and preparing periodic reports and estimates of completion dates and prompt handling of customer problems. Responsible for the preparation and staffing of sales proposals, negotiation of new contracts and for providing support to the sales organization.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 5 years experience managing and administering contracts from DoD and/or major defense contractors. Candidate must be well versed in FAR/DFAR and have experience analyzing and responding to customer Requests for Proposal.  Experience serving as a lead negotiator for contracts in excess of $5M required.  Project management, export administration and pricing experience a strong plus.  Formal training in contract management/administration desired.  CPCM certification a plus.  Military or DoD procurement experience desired.  Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.  Must have strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.  Must be eligible to obtain DoD Security Clearance.  Travel up to 20% may be required.

Education                    Bachelors Degree from accredited college, or equivalent.

Degree in Business preferred.

Computer skills:         Experience using MS Word and Excel required.

Experience in MS Project desired.
