WSP is currently initiating a search for a Structural Engineering Co-op for our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist more experienced Bridge Engineers in Engineering activities including bridge design in accordance with AASHTO Standards
  • Help create parametric models for bridge design projects
  • Help integrate three-dimensional modeling within the larger BIM process for bridge design
  • Help expand the use of these models as the basis for preparing quantity take-offs, cost estimates, contract drawings, and analysis modeling
  • Assist in preparing contract documents including drawings and specifications

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current standing as a Rising Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program
  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework
  • Experience the following software platforms: Revit / Dynamo, Rhino / Grasshopper, or other BIM/3D parametric modeling software; AutoCAD, MicroStation; Microsoft Office
  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
  • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.

 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of basic foundational courses including: Intro to Engineering, Engineering Drafting course, Mechanics/Statics, and Intro to Computer Engineering
  • Structural engineering design/analysis and BIM-related classwork preferred
  • Programming experience (C#, VB.Net, VBA, Python)
