Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students



Teacher of the Deaf


SEEM Collaborative’s Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is seeking to fill the position of Teacher of the Deaf.


The preferred candidate will possess certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and beginner to proficient level sign language skills.


Willingness to learn/solidify sign language skills is required.


The candidate should have knowledge and experience in language, speech, and auditory development of children with hearing loss as well as experience with hearing aids, cochlear implants, and HAT (Hearing Assistive Technology) systems.  


Students served range from pre-school age through third grade.  Experience in working with students who have special education needs, in addition to hearing loss, is highly preferred.


Must have the ability to push, pull or lift approximately 40 lbs.  Must have the ability to move quickly from standing to floor and floor to standing. 


Must be able to work remotely if necessary.


Employment is contingent upon passing a SAFIS fingerprint and CORI screening.
