Come be a part of a R&D team developing industry leading emissions control systems for passenger and commercial vehicles.  This role will be responsible for characterizing new catalytic materials for vehicle emission control.   You will work in laboratories equipped with custom built state of the art reactor systems with analytical instruments including FTIR, Mass Spectrometers and continuous emission analyzers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Complying with all environmental, health and safety regulations and policies.
  • Recognizing possible health and environmental risks followed-by acting to eliminate these hazards.
  • Preparing, conducting, and reporting on testing that characterizes the durability and performance of new catalyst materials.
  • Independently operating reactors, controls and analytical instruments.
  • Following test procedures to ensure the generation of high quality measurements and data.
  • Preparing reports and reviewing data with program sponsors.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining test equipment and instrumentation.
  • Preparing maintenance and calibration documentation consistent with IATF 16949 and/or ISO-14001 requirements.
  • Developing new test procedures.
  • Leading the design, installation, and validation of new analytical methods, instrumentation, and testing controls.



Are you the ideal candidate?

You will need:

  • Advanced mechanical skills required to maintain test cells, analyzers, and lab equipment.
  • A working knowledge of heterogeneous reactors.
  • A familiarity with or an ability to learn the techniques used to evaluate catalyst operation and durability.
  • A familiarity with the use of data acquisition systems with the ability to make basic modifications.
  • A familiarity with general, organic and instrumental chemistry for measuring exhaust emissions.
  • A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and experience in a laboratory environment.
  • An ability to recognize erroneous data as well as an ability to successfully troubleshoot and problem solve with minimal assistance by more senior level engineers or management.
