WSP is currently initiating a search for a Data Scientist for our Seattle, Washington office. We are looking for an individual who brings technical skills and passion for transportation together.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•With limited supervision, develop superior solutions for clients, including:
•Develop and maintain custom dashboards for clients using RStudio’s Shiny, Tableau, PowerBI, or other platforms as negotiated with clients
•Act as key programmer to support automation, data analysis, data cleaning, ETL, and other data focused tasks
•Develop, deploy, and manage containerized custom applications to meet client needs
Serve as a technical resource for internal stakeholders on cutting edge platforms related to the transit industry
•Provide database development support for internal and external stakeholders
Meet with clients to facilitate effective project delivery
•Operate both semi-autonomously and as a part of a team to develop unique, well documented, solutions for clients
Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
•Minimum of 2 years of experience
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, informatics, geography, urban planning, or related fields
•Proficiency of Microsoft Office (focused on Excel and Access)
•Proficiency in programming with PL/SQL, T-SQL, Python, R, Javascript, and VBA
•Familiarity with ArcGIS, ORACLE, MS SQL Server, Git, Docker, SSMS, Oracle SQL Developer, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master's Degree in a related field
•Previous transportation planning experience
•Proficiency in developing solutions using MS SQL, PostgreSQL, RStudio’s Shiny, Tableau, PowerBI, Azure or other cloud platform, Docker/Kubernetes, Linux, etc.
•Knowledge of transit, statistical analysis, asset management principles, transit operations, financial modeling, systems administration
