WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transportation Planner for our Seattle office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to a variety of planning studies related to multimodal transportation, including: feasibilities studies, location studies, corridor alternative analysis, environmental impact studies, and environmental assessments
  • Support traffic/transit operations modeling/analysis efforts
  • Provide assistance to planners and other staff in creating, editing, maintaining and analyzing datasets and geospatial data
  • Coordinate with other disciplines
  • Manage time and effort effectively on multiple projects

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Economics or related field with at least one to two years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of planning principles and practices with an emphasis on transportation
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting on traffic operations and transportation planning projects or tasks; including ability to use traffic operations software (e.g., Synchro)
  • Good organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities and attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Economics or related field
