The UX Designer is responsible for delivering the vision, experience and creative strategy for their respective projects and products. To do this, the designer will need to build strong relationships with product management and UX peers, development and other critical partners to establish and deliver on the business and customer requirements that enhances our digital experiences and products. The designer would do this through research, competitive analysis, design sprints, lean ux, formal in person testing and interviews with customers and associates.

An ideal candidate will have a portfolio of artifacts showing their understanding of the UX process. Design is a process of research, learning, testing and iteration and you can show how that leads to a final deliverable. The UX Designer should be highly collaborative; leaning on the  team and peers for constructive feedback and not afraid to share their feedback. The designer will bring a design thinking mentality and passion for doing the right thing for the user to solve their problems and ease their friction points. Desire to own the experience and bring their knowledge and experience to building the next Home Depot.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:

• 70% Sketch, Wireframe, Create Design Concepts and Builde Interactive Prototypes
-Creatively solve problems through various design methods using the Home Depot’s
design language and brand guidelines.
-Create intuitive prototypes (paper/digital) that can be used in user tests, or to communicate
interaction and  designed such that information is easy to find, understand and consume
-Pair with Engineering to implement designs. 

• 20% Consult with stakeholders to understand their goals and explain research results
-Present data, research and design concepts to multidisciplinary teams as well as to key
stakeholders and business partners 

• 10% Conduct usability testing and competitor/customer analysis
-Write test scripts in partnership with research, watch testing videos, write up results,
analyze data and provide recommendations to address business needs.
-Understand, research and learn how emerging and competing sites solve similar problems
and what we can learn from them

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.


Education Required:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.


Minimum Years of Relevant Work Experience: 1 year

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Standing desk or sitting desk
