Job Description
The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is currently seeking a User Experience Designer within its Internal Technology Services Division. The purpose of the User Experience (UX) Designer is to be able to understand Virginia Information Technology's business requirements and any technical limitations, as well as be responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes. The UX designer will also be expected to design the overall functionality of the websites and applications at VITA, and in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.  
Minimum Qualifications
Considerable experience in user experience, web development and design; Extensive experience in UX design; Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design; Demonstrated knowledge of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns ; Strong knowledge in standard UX software such as Optimal Workshop, Sketch, Axure and Usertesting.com; Demonstrated ability to work with business owners/other agencies to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision and Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients. High school graduate or equivalent.  
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field; Experience creating branding packages a plus for both the business and events; Experience in Graphic design, HTML and CSS a plus.
