We are currently seeking a Web Application Developer to join our team in Palo Alto, California (US-CA), United States (US).

Web Application Developer

The Web Application Developer is a critical role on the NTT SMART World Team. It is a unique position for a unique developer. We are looking for a developer with web and application experience to facilitate the implementation of the front-end and middleware components of our Smart Platform supporting data-driven IoT solutions. The ideal candidate should excel at various skills noted below as a baseline but should be extremely adaptable and capable of learning new technologies and frameworks easily. Additionally, experience building solutions across diverse device types and form factors is important in this role, as is platform integration experience. Familiarity with application and middleware testing tools would be important in the role as well.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Analyze business and functional components of the SMART solution through hands on product analysis, interaction with team members and interviews with SMEs and exploratory research
• Understand journey maps, service blueprints, use cases, flow diagrams, user stories and other artifacts to facilitate working session discussions, creation of technical specifications, test cases and user manuals
• Elaborate additional specifications, if necessary
• Participate in backlog refinement, grooming and prioritization
• Track, update and interact with the project tracking tool and provide updates to the project management team on project status
• Communicate and interact with other teams as projects move through the SDLC to ensure success of various deployments
• Stay current on the development efforts, market research and deployments managed and maintained by the business unit.
• Assist proofs of concept and/or out-of-the-box configurations to accompany new deployments which supports configuration
• Document and maintain product Wiki

Basic Qualification

3+ years Front End Development - jQuery
 

• • HTML5/CSS/JS
  • jQuery
  • Single page web application
  • React and supporting libraries
  • Recharts charting library for React
  • Material-UI framework for React
  • Experience integrating with Google Maps
  • NX development tools
  • Graphics manipulation (e.g. Photoshop)

1+ year Middleware – Python developer
 

• • Python
  • Pandas and other Python libraries
  • Flask/Gunicorn
  • API management and integration

2+ years Environment Management
 

• • Experience accessing server environments via RDP, SSH, FTP, etc...
  • Familiar with deploying and managing software in Windows Server and Linux environments
  • Experienced managing web servers and platforms

Nice to have skills
 

• • Database management/integration
  • Azure Cosmos DB
  • Cassandra DB
  • Azure API Management
  • Azure Application Gateway
  • Experience with Docker container management using Kubernetes and Jenkins
  • Experience developing for and integrating with Grafana
  • Networking experience and ability to manage web application security
