The Digital Publishing team is responsible for adding new and updating existing content across the Franklin Templeton website.  The team provides both marketing and technical expertise to support the wider business and ensures the web delivery of content is in line with business needs, timescales and expectations.


What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Web Publisher?


Applies web content publishing experience, organization and time-management skills along with knowledge of existing systems and processes to deliver the online content updates on behalf of our business partners, ensuring that these projects are in line with corporate standards and meet the needs of our website users.

  • Responsible for understanding and executing defined business objectives and requirements, using organization skills, systems and defined processes to post content to the web and identify potential business or technology issues with requests.
  • Working through a daily backlog of regular updates, change and enhancements to the digital client experience and delivering high quality output to target SLAs
  • Responsible for assessing business requests to produce online content and campaigns.
  • Responsible for basic understanding and application of the following projects: content management and publishing processes, internet technologies, usability, information architecture, web design, web metrics reporting tools, and search engines.
  • Responsible for understanding content management, and technology strategies.
  • Take ownership website requests, day to day web projects and operational issues. These requests include text changes, file uploads, recurring website updates, ad-hoc content requests, email newsletters and regular web content
    publishing responsibilities. Responsible for creating new campaign pages, enhancements for new website pages and implementing Web Analytics.
  • Overall coordination of web production and maintenance projects: communications with team members and business partners on timelines, assessment of request documentation, status updates and process management. Manages expectations of business requestors and internal teams.
  • Creates and maintains job tracking report, content inventories and creates ad-hoc reports for web production related tasks.


What ideal qualifications would help someone to be successful? 

  • Bachelor's Degree in New Media/Computer Science or related fields
  • Requires 1-3 years’ experience in website production environments
  • Requires understanding of Internet and website technologies
  • Requires detailed understanding of Content Management systems
  • Requires understanding of mass e-mailing, e-mail templating and emailing tools
  • Experience with interface design, site architecture design and usability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Outlook
  • OpenText Teamsite background a plus but not required
  • Training and/or experience in web analytics, design and development
  • Experience working within a virtual team environment desired
  • HTML & JavaScript knowledge would be desirable
  • Understanding of Social Media integration
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, proven problem-solving skills, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently to assess user requests and execute within set standards, processes and timelines
  • Strong knowledge and experience in working with the Internet
  • Ability to assess, understand and evaluate proposed business requirements, related to the production or publishing of content within CMS, using analytical skills to identify potential business and/or technology issues
